In November 2021, Meron Bezabeh (Consultant at Point of you)  had the privilege of representing Justdiggit at COP26 in Glasgow, speaking with a colleague on the UNFCCC Action Hub stage. Her presentation looked at a question central to Justdiggit's work: how can we move people from climate anxiety to climate action?

She shared how nature-based solutions such as regreening degraded land in Africa can cool the planet and restore livelihoods at scale. Meron also showed that the way we talk about climate change matters just as much as the solutions themselves. Fear and doom-and-gloom messaging often leave people feeling powerless. Positive, hopeful storytelling shows people what is possible and invites them to be part of it.

It was an honour to bring this message to a global audience at the world's leading climate conference, and to make the case that optimism, creativity and communication are powerful tools in the fight against global warming.
